Support tells me that this package is not available to customers that have an older baseline than 2014. We have 2013.1. Are there any plans to make it available to those of us with the older baseline in the near future?
The reason for that prerequisite for PPM installation is PPM is relying on ITFM for project budget and cost tracking capabilities. ITFM module is available starting from 2014.3 or newer.
There is no plan to retrofit ITFM for older versions yet so two recommendations if customers on older version want to use PPM -
- Having our PSO to build ITFM equivalent of project budget and cost tracking for PPM
As a cloud customer, I find this whole experience very disappointing. I know this is an internal discussion within HEAT Software right now so I won't continue that discussion here. However, I would highly recommend you update the app in the app store because having a minimum release of 2016.1 is not enough and it is misleading.
I do understand the issue and where you are coming from. The initial list view only mentions the minimum version of HEAT SM you need to be on, but when you double click the App listing, in the details view, we also mentioned the prerequisites for the metadata baseline. Its also in depth explained in the App documentation.
Sorry for the confusion this might have caused.
