Assume that you have defined an editing rule 1 setting field A on change of field B and another editing rule 2 that sets field B on change of field C.
Now if you have marked the "Invoke editing rules for the dependent fields of the target field" checkbox for editing rule 2, then editing rule 1 will also be invoked on any change of field C (because field B is changed by editing rule 2 and field A is a dependent field of B according to the definition of editing rule 1).
However, if the checkbox "Invoke editing rules for the dependent fields of the target field" is NOT ticked on editing rule 2, field A will not be automatically changed if field C is modified, i.e. editing rule 1 will only be triggered if field B is changed directly and not by another editing rule.
Hope this helps,
Thank you very much. Now I understand this feature :-)
