    Switch Users to DHCP?

    Rookie

Any way to switch users from static IPs to DHCP with LDMS 8.8 SP2?

      Thanks

          Brandon,

There is not a built in way to do this in LDMS. However you could script this change(using a batch file, or other scripting language) then deploy that to your clients using LDMS software dist. I did find this command line with a quick google search(however I have not tested it so hope it works for you)

To change the interface back to using DHCP and so have it allocated a different IP address

netsh interface ip set address "Local Area Connection" dhcp
netsh interface ip set dns "Local Area Connection" dhcp

If your clients are not setup to send in an inventory scan on IP address change I would also include the cmd line for an inventory scan at the end of the script so your db is updated with the new ip addresses.
