Never Mind, I found it!
What was the answer? I just installed ldms_core, and schedule the script, but it can't run without a device in it. Do I put the Core server in the task's device list?
Yes, you target the core.
You should update your documentation to include how to schedule it.
Also, you should include some detail to how this great add on works. For example, I explained to a colleague that it looks at old IP addresses and deletes them from the inventory, but I don't know how it works in the background.
Maybe not super in depth, but at least some info as to how ldms_core does it's analysis.
Just a thought. Thanks for all of your help.
I've added some more to the manual: detailed instructions for scheduling the task, and more discussion about how IP Address cleanup works. http://www.droppedpackets.org/scripts/ldms_core/ldms_core-manual
11 pages of documentation for 6,791 lines of code... note sure if that's a good ratio or a bad one Help would be welcome though, if anyone wants to take a stab at it.
