So the readers digest version is:
- Create a Prov Template
- Everything will be in the System Configuration branch
- Add - Execute File - This will be the uninstall. I would just call the straight MSI.
- Add - Reboot/ShutDown
- Add - Execute File - Install new version.
- Schedule Template
I have got this far whislt waiting for a response but when I test the deployment the task says delayed and sits in pending. I noticed that scheduling a emplate only supporst policy and policy supported push, how do I force the action to run?
Policy Supported Push, if the machine is on and configured correctly, will have the action take place immediately without user interaction.
Hi Zman, I replied to this yesterday but it isn’t showing for some reason.
I was using the policy supported push but it didn’t work, tried a reboot, that didn’t work, tried running policysync.exe in the ldclient folder and that didn’t work. Can you check the screen shots, see if I have everything set up right or possibly recommend something? I have tried using the UNC (showing) %%install%%\znavremove.bat and http paths to call the files..
Go to the machine and try running:
\\<CORE NAME>\ldlogon\Provisioning\windows\ldProvision.exe -c <CORE NAME>
So if your core name is core2
\\core2\ldlogon\Provisioning\windows\ldProvision.exe -c core2
Almost got this working, template uninstalls, reboots then starts the sep11 install but stops, I get a line 888 error in the logs, any ideas?
