OK - so if you're "extremely new", you may want to start with a few simpler packages, to earn your first software distribution stripes, as it were.
As a general rule, you shouldn't use "/qb" in the command-line option of the package definition. The "qb" (quiet) part is being taken care of in the delivery method ("No UI"-option).
Here's a couple of things you may want to read as well - a few very handy BKM's to help you along the way:
Best Known Method for Deploying Office 2007 with LDMS
=> This will walk you through the needed steps in an example like Office.
LDMS 8.7 Best Known Methods for Software Distribution
=> This is for the "older" version 8.7, but still contains a lot of important information.

=> Another example, just an additional reference.
Understanding Batch File Distribution Packages:
A *VERY* important document ... sometimes you cannot do things "straight" with LANDesk for some reason or another. One example is that you may be required to use a specific MSIEXEC command-line switch to install the app correctly, or like here, you need a "Multiuser" flag.
Because the LANDesk installer doesn't use MSIEXEC directly, but rather calls API's, not all command line switches are supported / will work.
In general, try getting familiar with the software dist stuff in little steps - use single-file executables (stuff like WINZIP.EXE / WINRAR.EXE for example) to find your ground and proceed slowly from there. Jumping in at the deep end usually will end up causing you mostly tears .
You may potentially consider asking your management to allow you to attend a training course too, if you're going to be working a lot in this field, as LANDesk is a pretty big product with a lot of depth, which isn't really the sort of thing you can "pick up over a weekend" so to speak .
Hope this helps you a bit along the way.

Have you tried Installshield for Lotus Notes? It it normally included in the installation CD and let you fully customize the MSI to be deployed (via Landesk). I've been using it since v 6.5 and never had a problem since.
do you know appdeploy.com? http://www.appdeploy.com/packages/detail.asp?id=1221
As fak3url described, you can use the "tuner" to create a transform file:
(s. chapter Customizing Notes install using the tuner)
Here you can download it http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21226984 if you have a IBM Passport Addvantage account ...
and find the hint:
For Notes 8.5
Currently, there is no Install Shield Tuner for 8.5x, and you must use the Tuner available for 7.x and 8.0.x.
