HTML fields - Set default font?

    MarkLarvo Specialist

How does one systematically set the default font for html boxes on forms?

The forms use Arial, but the html fields all default to Times Roman even with no actual font selected.

Content with two different fonts does not look good. We would like to set this system wide and manually change only when needed.

      Help!!

You can set the default font like this...its on a field by field basis however.

Add new rule with style and font you require to the correct HTML field within the Business Object (Don’t forget to put the <br> or it won't work)

          <P style="font-size: 13px; font-family tahoma"></br></p>

Please note in images field names are not consistent (they should be just different systems used for shots)

            Thanks Alasdair!

I ended up using a slightly different line to set the font the way we wanted it. It seems to interfere less with the Knowledge article content we want to add.

            <font face="Arial"></br></font>

              Hello,

When I try Alasdair's solution, I don't get HTML as an option in the dropdownlist.

When I save the initialization rule, I get symptom = <p .....> and not HTML = <P.......>  (screenshot)

We use the cloud version 2018.1

I've just done this myself tonight.

Alasdair's example is from another post, where they describe how to use this in an additional HTML field called 'html'.

I suspect you're trying to do the same as me and set a default font for the description box - this field is called 'Symptom' so what you have is correct.

What I don't like is that it only affects new incidents (I guess due to it being an initialisation rule), and that's is on a field by field basis.  I thought this could be done globally, maybe through CSS?!

This is local to the control/record you are on I am afraid.  to update all records you could try an update action which concatenates the font setting HTML with the HTML already in the field.
