you might want to try this
DWORD ADImportExpertMode = 1
So what does that setting do?
Fantastic, does this keep the OU structure updated in DSM when changes are made in AD? It seems like it might by the fact its expecting a service account, if this works this is exactly what I'm looking for.
unfortunately no. Since this is just an import from the active directory, it doesn't keep your DSM up to date.
AFAIK there are no tools delievered with DSM which will do this, but it should be possible to have third party tools which may be started scheduled and they do this job.
Since there is a SOAP interface and a documentation it should be possible to write scripts in PowerShell or something else.

maybe you want this...
To keep AD group memberships dynamic with DSM groups, I use "DSM External groups"(... no Static or Dynamic Group --> look at "DSM.chm" -> "External Groups" ).
Via DSM client synchronization, the group memberships are automatically updated.
Great, that looks like it will work for me.. thanks for the help.
