Can you explain in a little more detail what you are looking for? I know there's a lot of the new mobile UI that's not yet configurable but there's also quite a few feature requests about that as well. If you can describe in more detail what you'd like to see or be able to do, we might be able to find a solution or an appropriate Feature request to upvote.
essentially self service exposes open incidents and service requests to end users. My goal is to also expose the tasks related to the objects and the status so end users can see the progress being done especially for those multi team service requests that come in. the business aim is to improve transparency, technically this should be possible(like how notes are exposed). I just can't quite put my finger on the logic here.
Self service operates in the My Item workspace. This object is basically a landing place for copies of records from multiple other objects. You'd need to build Task into My Items in order to do what you are wanting to. Here's a KB on how to add an object to My Items. The screenshots are a bit older but all the pieces are there and should translate well to the recent versions.
Obviously you'd need to have other considerations to make the self service view of these tasks read-only but I think this is likely your "missing link".
Want to find out if you got this implemented and what your final solution looks like?
From what I can see is from the above link each task will appear under my items instead of under the service request. Is that what your final solution look liked?
So on incidents when a user goes into self service they can see any tasks associated with their active incident. We chose to only expose task#/Status and Team, but could easily expand this by changing the list we built for this form view.
Service Requests, we added triggered actions upon tasks moving to completed to post a note visible in notes tab with task details for the end users.
