can't install a distribution package using provisionning while working by scheduled task

    Rookie

      hi everyone,

i'm unable do install a software using a provisionning task, in my SCDCLIENTHANDLER.log i get stuck to :

      Sdclienthandler.exe checking for sdclient Mutex,

      and still repeating this action.

for the same package, i can install it using a schedule task.

is any body can't tell me what's wrong ?

Can you check to see if it is creating a SDClient_TaskID#.log in the "C:\Program Files (x86)\LANDesk\LDClient\Data" directory? If so what does that log reference as the issue? You can always enable additional logging to get more information in the logs as well.

In addition to the above, it may be beneficial to list what version (major / minor) you're on (so for instance "EPM 2017.3 + SU1").

how are you building the install task? does your package have the correct flags to install?

                  thx everyone for your answers,

                  i'm using EPM 2107.3 SU3

I created a distribution package. from that distribution package a created a schedule task. everything is working fine.

i get my application on my remote computer

Now i want to add this package to a provisionning task, and it's not working, the action get blocked for some reasons.

1 created an universal package based on provisionning

                  i get those log :

If provisioning gets as far as kickig the task off, you should be able to look at the regular SDCLIENT_xxx logs & co (and it should install much the same).

So the logs & info from this article -- How to troubleshoot a Software Distribution Task - Client Side -- should apply here.

Hi everyone, this problem has been solved, the issue was du to an agent parameter.
we do set the use multicast for downloading application, and it's not working properly during provisionning for applications that need extra files.

it 's working fine if it's a single packet, but when added extra file to the packet it freeze.

thank you all for your help

                        Huh - interesting

That sounds like a bug that you should report up, if you haven't already. Multicast with multi-files should work just as well as for single files.
