AV will not install with agent

    nbranson88 Rookie

We're having an issue where AV will not install during agent installation.

This is happening with both the MSI and the EXEs.

We are up to date, we have rebuilt both our MSIs and EXEs, and thought we had it working at first but now we're back to it not installing again.

This is happening during provisioning on fresh images, MSI installation from the remote console, and with the EXE during a manual self contained install.

We're on 2017.3 SU3 and our devices are all on Win 10 1803.

However when we do an install components task, and install the AV this way, it goes through without failure. It simply won't install when bundled with the agent.

It looks like maybe a permissions issue, but I can't be sure, if you've seen this before please help.

It might help explaining what version of EPM you're on (i.e. "I'm on 2016.0 + SU1").

What you May also want to try & do is this:

          • Start a CMD-prompt (as admin)
          • Authenticate/Connect to the Core's LDLOGON share
          • Run (as admin) -- "\\MyCore\LDLOGON\WSCFG32 /F" - this will install whatever you've defined as "the default agent configuration". You can specify a SPECIFIC agent config if needed via additional command line parameters. For more info, see here -- WSCFG32.EXE (agent installation utility) - Command Line switches .

... forcing the "run as admin" should help ensure you've got the privileges needed that you do need (possible that there's some privilege problems with the other install approaches you use perhaps).

Furthermore, using the GUI-based installer may give you more insight into what's going wrong / if anything is being blocked / anything pops up.
