First and foremost, I'm new at this and if this question has been answered my apologies.
Here is our situation, in our Management Console we have 3800+ devices reporting. However 664 devices have not checked in over the last 90 days.
Many of these devices have been retired and some are still good machines that are in our inventory and on shelves at our location around the country.
Since this is the cae, our patching reports are off and reports to management about the true number of devices is inaccurate.
We can remove the recycled devices, but for equipment in inventory, what is the best method to manage these?
Is their a document that explains the best course of action to deal with this type of equipment. A way to show what is inventory vs. what is live.
