Yes and no.
You can send custom data with a miniscan just by adding it on the command line... and if that custom data happens to line up exactly with the schema, it will go in as non-custom data (in other words, copy the right line from a .SCN file, and it should Just Work(TM)).
But... miniscans don't work through the gateway.
Vulnerability scans do though -- I'd just send a localscheduler job to tell your workstations to run just type AV scans every three or four hours.
Please slap me upside the head if I am wrong... But couldn't you update the LdAppl3.ini file on the core in the LDLogon folder? Of course that is if SAV stores the info in the registry.
Here's an example of what I do.
;McAfee Agent Version
KEY=HKLM,Software\Network Associates\TVD\Shared Components\Framework,Version, Security - AntiVirus Software - AntiVirus - Agent Version
;McAfee DAT Version
KEY=HKLM,Software\Network Associates\ePolicy Orchestrator\Application Plugins\VIRUSSCAN8000,DATVersion, Security - AntiVirus Software - AntiVirus - DAT Version
This will then be updated by the clients and on full inventories it will send that info, and since you do it daily, it should work. RIGHT?
Maybe I am missing a step. It's been a long while since I made those changes.
It's not necessary -- the value he's after is already gathered by an inventory scan, he's just looking for a way to do it without running that scan.
Could anyone offer the exact command line to perform the requested operation?
