    Global variable for SR's through self service

      How would you track location for all of your service requests?


      For incident this is easy, we just use a picklist of valid locations and we are able to easily report on it since it is one table. Since service requests are broken up into multiple tables it is much harder to use this way of tracking location. The only method we could think of right now is to add a location field to every request and parse that out but we would really prefer not to do that. Would it be possible to use something like a global variable that could be called from any request template? This would make it so much easier.


      Right now it's not possible to tie location data to a person from a data import such as AD but it is something we are working on.
