    Wake on Lan in subnet

    Rookie

      Hi,

Is it possible to use the Landesk Wake on Lan feature also in a subnet? WOL is not routable as far as I know but we need to manage a different network. PXE boot can work via a proxy so maybe there's also a solution for WOL?

Yep, it sure is. There's various threads on this.

Option 1 - use a TMC (Targeted Multicast) job with WOL.

=> This will have the subnet-local MDR (Multicast Domain Rep) send out the WOL-packets for "his" subnet. No worries about routers.

Option 2 - you have a look at an app like      this one - Marxtar's Wake on Wan:

NOTE -- I'm not prone to advertising, this is simply the only tool I'm presently aware of that one of our partners did. If there's others, I'm simply not aware of them at present.
