What you can do if you have access to Crystal Reports 10/11 is edit the actual report before you run it. E.g. you can remove the LANDesk logo from the report very simply by opening it with Crystal Reports and then clicking on the image and pressing delete.
You can also use the grouping expert to group the equipment by company if you know which table within your database the companies are stored in. That way you don't have to worry about grouping the report and faffing about with it in excel. You can also change the information which is displayed by editing the report to show the reliant information.
If you want to only show a specific customer on each page I would reccomend using the section expert, that way you can force it to create a new page after each company.
Another thing you could also do is set up a parameter field to perform a lookup on the report, so if you only want to run the report for a specific company you can do by simply selecting it from a list each time you run the report.
If you have anyone within your company who has experience with crystal reports they should be able to do this quite quickly.
I would recommend www.crystalreportsbook.com if you are looking for in depth help and use there forum, also the books provided on the site are quite comprehensive and give you a good basis if your going to be working with reports a lot in the future.
Crystal Reports Enterprise (Crystal 10) or Crystal Server (Crystal XI) can be used to automate sending reports. You can choose exactly what format they are sent in including Excel and PDF.
What I would recommend is that you design a new report that, when exported to Excel, appears the way you want it to then use Enterprise/Server to schedule sending it to the relevent people.
I have been trying to customise the reports using the built in designer but I am struggling to get the page breaks and logos off, the attached file is the end result I am looking for without all the formulas and with the business stream at the end, I am at present having to strip this from the Primary Owner column.
In between my other million jobs I have worked this by running queries on users in the individual business streams and running the report as CSV but when scheduling the report to e-mail it still comes through as a PDF. Is it possible to schedule the reports to be produced as CSV and if so how?
Right now PDF is the only format this works in. I think that is set to change with v9 due out in December
Well I'm now utterly confused!
James R - Please can you confirm exactly what sort of report this is (Crystal or ServiceDesk Query & Report Designer report) and where you're trying to export it from (ServiceDesk console or Crystal Server). Or is it that you've got the Help Desk product?
James M - This thread concerns reporting from the LANDesk ServiceDesk/Help Desk database, this is a separate product to LDMS and is not part of the version 9 upgrade. Having said that, there will be a new release of ServiceDesk in November - version 7.3.1.
I want to run automated report from the LANDesk console on SLM etc in excel/ CSV but at present this is only available in V9 released in December unless anyone had had this upgraded by patch early?
Administrative comment - this thread has been moved to LANDesk's reporting section, since it's not related to Service Desk, but LANDesk .

If you have the report set up as a query, you can open the remote console: http://localhost/remote then run the query and export as .csv This will give you the report as data only with no page breaks!!!! Hope that gives you another avenue to get what you are looking for. Thanks
