    Supernets and queries

    rjordan Rookie

We recently started a project to change our subnet from .255 to .252.  In doing so, it has invalidated some of the queries that we relied on to determine specific machines based on their IP addresses.  For instance, one machine type we have always had one machine type with the last octet of .203.  Now comes the problem.  With the .252 subnet, we had:

      10.11.12.203

being the only .203 on the subnet.  Now that we arewith the .252 subnet, we have:

      10.11.12.203

      10.11.13.203

      10.11.14.203

      10.11.15.203

The only one I am interested in is 10.11.12.203.  Is there any known way to have a query that looks at a particular "level" of the supernet to get only the one I am looking for?  I cannot seem to find anything to make it a reality.

      Thanks for the assist!
