    Disk Partitioning Mismatching Drive Letters

    Rookie

      Hello Fellow LANDeskers,

      Help please...

I am using ImageX with WinPE to deploy images to a Dell Optiplex 745. Unfortunately, some of the 745s have varying disk sizes and so what I would like to do is during the imaging process, set the Wipedisk.txt file to create the following:

      • C drive primary partition of 30Gb
      • D drive primary partition of a size that is left when you take off the 30 & 10 for the C & E drive
      • E drive primary partition of 10Gb

This results in a C drive of 30Gb and the D drive taking up the rest (120Gb) but NO E drive

I then change the WipeDisk.txt file as below:

    • C drive primary partition of 30Gb
    • E drive primary partition of 10Gb
    • D drive primary partition of a size that is left when you take off the 30 & 10 for the C & E drive
    •

This results in the Drives being labelled incorrectly - C is OK but D & E get opposite labels and this incorrect drive size allocation.

I was wondering therefore, if I manage the full disk management in WipeDisk.txt and rem out the lines in the advanced edit script of the job, will this solve my problem??

      Let me find out.

      Anyone else experiencing this issue???
