in the msi log it says "Action start 15:26:33: LDSetIISDIRProperty.
Info 1720.A script required for this install to complete could not be run. Custom action LDSetIISDIRProperty script error -2147023836, : Line 11, Column 22, ". Sounds like a problem with the iis.
I myself have no deployment experience with the version 9.0 yet. But with the version 8.8 i had a problem with limited directory and filename length. The directory structure for the landesk installation source files are pretty deep and it may occur that files are renamed to 8.3 (abcdef~1.abc). according to this there are many "file not found errors" were produced.
Thanks a lot for the reply, Willem.
I will go through the file list once and see if any of them have more than 255 characters in the path.
FYI, I tried using the setup.exe with the mentioned command line parameters, but no luck.
We have been using the msi installation to deploy the mgmt console with success:
"Landesk Software.msi" /q CORESERVER=<our coreserver name> CONSOLE_ONLY=1 SILENT_INSTALL=1 LDINSTALLTYPE=2 LDLANG=ENU
We are running LMDS 9
Hope this helped, if this issue hasn't been already solved in the past, off course...
What files do you include in your package. Since there are over 2 gigs worth?
