    After upgrading to LANDesk 9, 100% CPU usage

      After upgrading from LANDesk 8.8 SP3 to LANDESK 9, we experience that the process kavehost.exe 's  CPU usage
      can become very  high so that the 2 "kavehost.exe" exhausted 100% CPU.

      Is there any patch to  fix this problem?

          Did you find a solution to this? I've got some clients suffering the same problem.

            Thanks for the reply, is this to be installed on the core or the clients, as my problem is with clients.

              As you can see on file Readme.txt on folder AV-4764590.1-2 you should install the patch on core server and on clients

               

              *** On the CORE SERVER: ***

              1.  Run Setup.exe extracted from the patch.

              NOTE: The progress bar for the patch update program may pause for a moment while updating
                      large files. This is expected behavior, and progress will continue automatically as
                      soon as these large files finish updating.

              *** On Additional Consoles ***

              1.  Run Setup.exe extracted from the patch.

              NOTE:  This step is not required on the core server.


              *** On Clients ***

              a. Launch WSCFG32.EXE on selected client computers.
              -or-
              b. Use the Scheduler service to "push" a client configuration to client machines.
              -or-
              c. Push an Install/Update Security Component task to the clients.

                The readme incorrectly states to run the patch on remote consoles.

                 

                This is not true.

                 

                Here are the patch install instructions:

                 

                Patch Installation Process:

                 

                *** On the Core Server ***

                 

                1. Uncompress all files to a common directory.  (This defaults to C:\LANDesk_Patches).

                2. The directory where the files were uncompressed to will contain subdirectories for each patch name.

                3. Go into the subdirectory and run Setup.exe.  

                4. If prompted for a reboot, reboot the Core Server at this time.

                 

                *** Updating the Clients ***

                 

                1. Open the Security Configurations Tool in the LDMS Console

                2. Click the dropdown next to the second icon and select "Install/Update Security Components"

                3. Select whether to use a Scheduled Task and/or a Policy, Check the box for the component "LANDesk Antivirus"

                4. Review desired UI Options and Settings

                5. Click OK.   This will open in the Scheduled Tasks Dialog.

                6. Add the desired target clients and schedule the task.
